SEND Governor

Alex has worked in Higher Education (HE) for over 4 years and has experience in developing policies and procedures, supporting students and academic staff, and implementing quality assurance processes. Alex is currently a Partnerships Manager at UEA and acts a relationship manager for partner institutions whereby the University validates HE provision. She is keen to draw on her experiences of HE and make a positive contribution to young people’s educational journey. Alex enjoys spinning, running and baking in her spare time.

Vice Chair
Safeguarding Governor

Seth has been a governor since before the formation of the Academy and previously to this at two other schools. At present he has two children at the academy and a further two that have left and gone onto University. Seth is in the School regularly in his roles as Senior Staff Instructor for the Iceni Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Manger and Safeguarding Governor. Seth is a director of a business that provides adventure activities. In his spare time he enjoys climbing, archery, kayaking and coaching rugby.

Tracy has three children, one is a former pupil and two are current pupils at Iceni. Being a full time youth worker and running Methwold Youth Centre, she is passionate about nurturing and encouraging young people to be the best they can be, listening to what they have to say and supporting them through their journey to adulthood. Tracy enjoys baking, volunteering and spending time with her family.

Bob has been active in school Governance since 2005 and at Iceni Academy since 2012, Bob has had many roles including, up until this year, the Chair of the Governing Body.  Prior to being on the Governing Body at Iceni (Methwold) Bob was Chair at the Norman School in Northwold.Professionally, Bob is a Principal Data Scientist at Aviva, the UKs largest Insurer based in Norwich. However, has worked in a variety of industries, which has enriched his experience and enhanced his skills. In an ever-changing world full of uncertainty, Bob aims to use his experiences to constructively challenge in order to achieve continuous improvement.Bob’s association with Iceni started when his father was Deputy Head of the school back in the 1970’s.  Although Bob never attended, all of his children have gone through the school.  Bob is very proud to be an active governor and to be involved with the academy to ensure that every student who comes through the doors, is able to flourish and develop socially, emotionally and academically and is ably supported to achieve their full potential.c/o Iceni Academy: 01366 728333: office@iceni.attrust.org.uk

Personal Development Governor

Adele is a Clinical and Research psychologist who has worked across a range of public sector organisations for the past ten years. Adele is currently the project lead on a mindfulness for later life project delivered via the Gatehouse Charity in Bury St Edmunds, and an Associate Lecturer for the Open University. She has a background in quality assurance and is an external expert for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher education and Ofqual. She lives locally with two young children, several chickens, a few sheep and a couple of horses and is keen to work with the Iceni Academy to offer a high quality education for local children.

Principal (Methwold) – Ex Officio Governor

Lesley has worked at a range of academies throughout Norfolk. Originally a mathematics teacher, Lesley has also led departments, a sixth form and work involving pupil premium provision. She also has experience in developing curricula and exploring the impact of cognitive load and working memory research. She is certified as an SLE and enjoys working in collaboration with other academies on school improvement work. Principal (Hockwold) – Ex Officio Governor

I am very privileged to be the Principal of the primary site at Iceni Academy.

I feel passionately that all children should enjoy school and be immersed in the awe and wonder of the new experiences and opportunities that we can provide them.

In my spare time I like to go walking with my dog, socialise with family and friends and read. I have two wonderful grown-up children and my husband, who I like to spend weekends with. My favourite drink is green tea!
